Menopause Triage is an online, remote service providing patients access to our Hormone Clinic from the comfort and convenience of home.

Traditionally, patients who attend our Menopause Clinics in Hampshire, Surrey and London to see our Consultant & Menopause Specialists will visit 3-4 times in the first year and spend on average £1,064.00 +

Menopause Triage is a service suitable for women aged 45 to 60 years with common symptoms of Menopause including hot flushes, night sweats and low mood.

Menopause Triage is aimed at getting the most beneficial, clinically approved and safe tailored HRT to all patients.

HRT approved by the British Menopause Society.

What is tailored HRT?

Oestrogen Replacement Therapy helps with symptoms of hot flushes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, aching joints and low mood amongst other symptoms.

Testosterone Replacement Therapy helps symptoms of low libido and sexual function, fatigue and sleep, headaches, trouble with concentration or “brain fog” and is often referred to as giving patients back their “Mojo”.

Progesterone Replacement Therapy protects the lining of the womb from endometrial cancer.

Most GP’s will happily prescribe Hormone Replacement Therapy made up of oestrogen and progesterone. We are a specialist clinic accredited by The British Menopause Society and are also able to offer access to testosterone replacement therapy which is a crucial element to stay feeling well and strong as you transition through the menopause.

At The Female Health Clinic we aim to make tailored HRT available to all women, enabling you to make the safest choice while still providing great symptom management.

There are some exclusions to the Menopause Triage Service (some of these are listed below) which may require a further consultation with one of our doctors to ascertain whether Menopause Triage is a safe route for you. This is charged additionally at £190 and may end with a referral into clinic to have doctor led one-to-one care.

• History of breast cancer
• History of endometrial cancer
• Complex mental health history requiring balanced management

Your Patient Journey when embarking on Menopause Triage

Once registered to our Menopause Clinic we will call you to offer an appointment with one of our menopause specialists. Clinics run most days, evenings and weekends. We may call from a withheld number and will leave a message for you to call us back if it is not a convenient time to talk.

You will be offered a baseline hormone profile test (additional £196.00). This valuable baseline can indicate menopause status, oestrogen and testosterone deficiency levels. This also enables your clinician to review efficient absorption when using transdermal hormone replacement therapies and is recommended.

However, we understand the cost implications so you can also ask your GP for this baseline and share with us if you would rather.

Alternatively, some forms of HRT can be prescribed by assessing and monitoring symptoms without a blood test.

We can also send a home test kit to you for self-sampling, you can arrange an appointment with our nurse or alternatively, you can request assistance with these from your GP free of charge.

Please note: you will be required to provide a blood pressure result along with your height and weight measurements during your telephone call with the doctor. Your medication cannot be ordered until we have this information. Most pharmacies are able to help with this.

We will book you a 30 minute telephone consultation with a doctor in the Menopause Clinic and they will discuss your symptoms, medical history and HRT options with you and develop your treatment plan and arrange your prescription.

A private prescription from our online pharmacy can be delivered to your door usually in around *24-48 hours or we can write a letter to your GP with our medication recommendations which you can then discuss with them.

*Current HRT Supply issues are slowing the delivery time down to circa 3-5 days

Are there any hidden costs to Menopause Triage?

We want to be completely transparent allowing you to make a fully informed decision regarding your Menopause Management. There are no hidden costs and below is what to expect:

• Annual Review after your initial 12 months, if you wish to continue HRT prescribing through our menopause clinic the standard Menopause Triage fee applies (£199). If your GP is prescribing for you and managing your treatment there is no need for an annual review with us.
• If you do not ask your GP to manage your HRT prescription we charge £30 per prescription request (medications charged separately by our online pharmacy). Yearly prescriptions can be ordered for a reduced fee of £65 at the time of a follow up consultation.
• If you require additional adhoc support we have an “Ask the Doctor” service for patient queries. This is an email service and costs £45.
• Some HRT (Testosterone replacement therapy for example) will require blood testing to check that you are in the therapeutic range (a prescribing requirement). This costs between £49 – £98 per test and typically, two tests will be required six weeks apart if you commence with Testosterone Replacement Therapy. For externally processed blood results, a fee of £50 will be charged for the blood report and to enable us to continue prescribing.
• You may decide that you would like to a hormone profile baseline blood test (£196).
• If you have any medical history that requires further discussion (see above list) you will be offered a telephone consultation with one of our Accredited Menopause Specialists to discuss HRT and if it is safe and suitable for you. This is charged additionally from £190.
