Super Hair Removal
This is an innovative laser treatment which utilises concentrated light beams to destroy the hair follicles.
That means truly removing it from the root. Each pulse of light is an incredibly narrow, specific wave length of energy that is absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle.
Using IPL technology, also used for skin rejuvination means the area targetted for laser hair removal will also benefit from some skin rejuvination also.
The process gradually heats the melanin and hair follicles with effective heat buildup to destroy the hair for long-lasting results.
By targeting the area under the skin’s surface, your skin is left completely intact and untouched with virtually no visible symptoms.
The laser treatment is also paired with an effective air cooling tool on the surface so that your skin feels a little warm and tingly, at most.
Unlike other laser treatments and short-term waxing, you won’t experience any superficial burns or pain and there’s no need for numbing or anesthesia.
6-8 sessions are required.
SHR hair removal requires less energy than comparable depilatory techniques. The energy is only passed on to 50% by the dye melanin, the remaining 50% of the energy act on the stem cells.
These are responsible for the nutrition of the hair root. The protein in the stem cells denatures. In consequence they can no longer provide the hair roots with nutrients.
It is recommended to shave the day prior to treatment
So what is the difference between IPL and SHR?
IPL uses a single intense pulse of energy that is targetted at melanin, which makes it effective on dark and coarse hair. However, this means that it has little effect on finer hair and people with a higher melanin count, or darker skin tones, will have more uncomfortable sessions since their skin will absorb more heat energy.
SHR, on the other hand, uses gentler pulses of energy at a higher frequency so the skin is heated gently. Furthermore, only 50% of the energy is targetted at melanin, which makes the hair less dark and coarse, while the other half targets the stem cells responsible for hair production. Therefore, both coarse and fine hairs are targetted and the removal process is more thorough and permanent.
Also, because the heat applied to the skin is more gradual and gentle, it results in less trauma on the skin and it’s suitable for everyone, no matter the skin tone and even those with sensitive skin.
